as winter melts away...
... it is time for a poem about spring. (and a face lift of the blog title!)
"spring"
Just when I have resolved that winter
will not release its fierce and frozen grip,
birds begin their chirping beneath dripping
eaves, and the smallest drop of sun sinks
through wet snow to a ground ready to send forth
growth so green I wonder if my eyes have studied
a brighter color.
Grace, in this tangible way, seeps into my
earthen heart; when the everyday appears eternally
impassive and stiff, something new begins from deep
below the icy crust, and I
see spring.
